Secret Samol, the Friends at the Table fandom's secret santa event! This year I got VforValensa who requested Chine and It being cute!
This was some of the most fun I've had with an illustration. I wanted to share some wips because there are many sketches of It (and some Chines)
Before the requests came in, I wanted to do something with video games or with websites so I started to explore that space when the prompts did come in.
After brainstorm scenarios, including some various "explore Blackwick as It" concept, I ended up with a dress up game concept for Chine and It
I wanted it to have this small, diarama feel in this single dressing room. A few of the outfits were gonna reference a lot of things from Sangfielle and the arcs that had taken place, others were just gonna be thematically in line with the setting but had no other purpose except to look cute in it

Eventually, I pivoted back to an illustration idea. Despite liking the game concept, my forrays with 3D modelling is limited, my knowledge of implimenting 3D models into a game engine is less and flowing animations between states is negligible. I am stronger in my illustrations and I wanted to work with an idea I know I could theoretically execute well, rather than chance it.
Below are my wip screenshots of the piece. I wanted to do something with Chine, It and The Course. I listened to a lot of the course related soundtracks on loop (and watch the version with Anne's great video). I wanted to convey the shifting nature of the Course but keep that cute prompt in the piece.
